HERE IS TRUDI'S STORY:
I've been diagnosed with Stage 4 Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma - a rare and aggressive form of cancer. My journey began in August 2022 with a trip to the ER that led to emergency surgery. Since then, I've undergone multiple surgeries, including a full hysterectomy and the removal of part of my colon and appendix. In April 2023, I was officially diagnosed with Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma, a rare subtype of cancer. I've been in continuous treatment ever since, including chemotherapy, regular CT scans, and more surgeries - all of which will be ongoing for the rest of my life, as there is currently no cure or chance of remission.
Despite these challenges, I remain grounded by my family. I've been married for 11 years and we are raising two incredible children - our 9 year old daughter and almost 7 year old son - who bring light and laughter into our lives every day. I live with the painful uncertainty of whether I'll witness my children's future milestones, but I continue to fight with everything I have. The love and support from my family, friends and community give me strength - and for that, I 'm deeply grateful.
